The Science of C60 as an Antioxidant
February 29, 2024
What the Research Shows
Laboratory studies have explored C60’s potential as a free radical scavenger. The molecule’s structure allows it to interact with reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are implicated in oxidative stress.
Important Context
Most C60 research has been conducted in laboratory (in vitro) settings or animal models. Human clinical trials remain limited. The existing research is promising but preliminary.
